MARBLE FIDGET SQUARE

After creating a knit marble fidget bracelet for my son I came up with the idea to use double knitting to make a pocket sized fidget toy. I like the small scale of this project for experimenting with a tubular cast on and tubular bind off while also making a small functional piece.

YARN
Sample used approximately 4-5 g of a superwash merino and nylon DK weight yarn. A DK weight yarn in wool or synthetic fibers will work. One test knitter made a larger 3” x 4” (7.5 x 10) cm piece with about 10 g of DK weight yarn.

DIMENSIONS
Approximately 2″ (5 cm) square

GAUGE & NEEDLES
5 sts = 1” (2.5 cm) in double-knit stockinette, measured on one side of fabric
US 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle, 16” (40 cm) or straight needles or size needed to get gauge

TECHNIQUES
Tubular cast-on with waste yarn, double-knitting, tubular bind-off

PATTERN ATTRIBUTES
This quick design is a beginner friendly written pattern with photo tutorials. Each square requires 1 standard glass marble or flat bottomed glass stone.
